Our Technology

SUDFLUOR’s FLUOROSAFETM

An innovative fluorine source

FLUOROSAFETM is a non-toxic, non-corrosive porous material. It can be transported and stored without posing any risk to people or the environment.
Reusable, it is part of a responsible approach to chemistry that is concerned with preserving natural resources.
It is distributed in sealed, airtight cartridges, to guarantee a high quality with a much lower HF content than commercial F2.

Our technology

Our Technology: Green Tiger generators by SUDFLUOR offer a solution for releasing gaseous fluorine from FLUOROSAFE TM. Developed with a keen focus on safety, these generators are designed to be user-friendly and easily installed near the process. The GT Discovery installation video demonstrates the ease of setup and operation.

  • SAFETY

Forget about transporting and storing hazardous materials. Easy to operate, our GT F2 generator is accessible to students and technical staff alike, thanks to the low toxicity of  FLUOROSAFE™ and F2 handling automation.

  • ADAPTABILITY

The GT Discovery’s compact design makes it easy to fit into any laboratory. A simple connection to an extraction duct is all that’s needed for a totally safe installation.

  • FLEXIBILITY

With FLUOROSAFE™, a highly reactive fluorine gas is generated. The GT Discovery allows direct or delayed use of F2 and the possibility of blending it with neutral gases (He, Ar, N2) to the concentration of choice.

  • CREATIVITY

The reactivity of the fluorine gas produced by FLUOROSAFE™ opens the doors to more efficient, environmentally-friendly chemistry, where only your imagination is the limit!

Today’s fluorine supply solutions

Pros

– Relatively affordable with suppliers worldwide
– Well-established technology
– Easy control of gas flow and inventory with simple, standard equipment (valves, regulators, mass flow, etc.)

Cons

– High risks associated with the transport, storage and handling of pressurized F2
– No air transport authorized
– Fixed blends and high concentrations (>20% N2) not always available from suppliers
– Classified dangerous goods subject to storage authorization, depending on quantities stored
– Unpredictable supply shortages and price increases
– Additional costs due to loan, maintenance, training, etc.

Pros

– F2 at the best price
– Wide choice of anhydrous HF suppliers
– Reduced logistics for large F2 consumers
– Various F2 concentrations from 0 to 100% possible

Cons

– High initial investment (>2 M€)
– Air transport prohibited
– High risk associated with transport, storage and handling of anhydrous HF under pressure
– Storage of classified dangerous goods subject to authorization
– Continuous production of F2 involves continuous consumption or storage solution
– F2 produced at atmospheric pressure: requires compression for most applications and blending operations
– Raw F2 must be purified
– High maintenance costs due to HF corrosion
– Generates waste for disposal
